Children's Zoo
Battersea Park is situated on the
south bank of the Thames and is one of London's most beautiful and
interesting open spaces, with a variety of trees and wildlife. The
Children's Zoo, located in the north of the park, has been specially

Jewel Tower
Edward III had the Jewel Tower built

London Wetland Centre
One of Europe’s most ambitious and

Osterley Park House
In 1562 Sir Thomas Gresham, financial
adviser to Elizabeth l, created ‘a fair and stately building of
brick’ at Osterley. In 1761 the founders of Child’s Bank
commissioned the fashionable Scottish architect Robert Adam to
transform Gresham’s crumbling mansion into an elegant neo-classical
villa. This was the Child’s house in the country, created for
entertainment and to impress their friends. Today, set in a 350-acre
oasis in the heart of urban London, Osterley contains one of the
country’s most complete examples of Adam’s work, including superb

Royal Mews
The Royal Mews is a working department
of the Royal Household and a living part of Britain’s heritage. The
Mews is responsible for all road travel arrangements for the Royal
Family, by horse-drawn carriage or car. Visitors are able to see the
state carriages and cars used at all state occasions, including
coronations, state visits, royal weddings and the State Opening of
Parliament. There is a tour that shows how the Mews serves the Queen

Shakespeares Globe
Theatre Tour and Exhibition

Southwark Cathedral
Southwark Cathedral lies on the south
of the Thames in the Bankside area, near Shakespeare's Globe
Theatre. It is the oldest Gothic building in London. A place of

St Paul's Cathedral
St Paul's Cathedral is Sir Christopher
Wren's masterpiece, built between 1675 and 1708 to replace the
previous cathedral destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666.
The huge and elegant dome dominates the skyline of the City and
gives panoramic views over London. Inside you can see the majestic
interior and enjoy the unique acoustics of the Whispering Gallery.
The crypt contains tombs and memorials of historic figures,

The Thames Barrier is a unique
structure, built to protect London against tidal surges. At a width
of 520m and as high as a five-storey building, the barrier is a

Wellington Arch
London’s famous landmark at Hyde Park
Corner was recently saved from ruin and returned to its full glory
by English Heritage. From viewing platforms beneath the Arch’s
magnificent sculpture (Peace descending on the Chariot of War),

can be seen from high above the swirling traffic. It is a great
